Mallorca snorkeling: five trips, five different days

Mallorca snorkeling is mostly done from a boat or on a guided outing, and the trips here fall into two areas. Around Palma the water is a protected bay, and the trips are relaxed boat days with a swim stop. In the north, around Alcúdia and the Bay of Pollença, the trips are smaller and more active, with kayaks, a sea cave or a quiet bay reached by boat.

Prices run from €39 to €99 per person. The cheapest option is a 2.5 hour boat tour with one snorkel stop. The top of the range is a four hour sailing trip with a paddleboard, snacks and two drinks. In between sit a boat trip to a small bay, a kayak and cliff jumping tour, and a guided outing in a nature reserve.

Prices as of November 2026. Every option below is priced per person.

Palma Bay: boat tour and sailing trip

The Palma boat tour lasts 2.5 hours and stops for snorkeling in the marine reserve of the Bay of Palma. It costs €39. The price includes the boat, a life jacket, a shower, a toilet on board and one drink, which can be water, beer or sangría. Snorkel gear is included against a €10 deposit. Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure, and note that there is no hotel transfer. The boat ride is open to all ages, but snorkeling means swimming on your own.

The sailing trip is the longer choice at €99 for four hours. It leaves from the Cala Estancia area of Can Pastilla, with boarding 10 minutes before the start. Snorkel gear, a paddleboard, snacks and two drinks are included. The sails go up depending on the wind, so think of it as a sailing day with a swim rather than a pure snorkel trip. Pick the €39 boat if you mainly want to get in the water for a short, simple trip; pick the sailing trip if you want half a day afloat.

Kayak, sea cave and cliff jump from Alcúdia

This is the most active trip, at €69 for about three hours. It starts near Alcúdia, follows the coast by kayak, enters a sea cave and ends with snorkeling. Kayak, helmet, life jacket, water shoes, snorkel gear and insurance are included, plus a wetsuit in the colder months, photos and a picnic. Transfers run from Alcúdia, Port d'Alcúdia, Playa de Muro and Can Picafort.

The cave visit and the 3 metre cliff jump are optional, which makes the day workable for people who prefer to stay on the water. The operator recommends it from age 5 and asks for no previous experience; swimming is advised. A coastal path section is uneven and can be slippery, so wear shoes you can get wet. If the weather or sea is unsafe, the tour can be cancelled and you can rebook or get a full refund.

Guided snorkeling in a nature reserve

The reserve trip costs €70 and lasts 3.5 hours. Equipment, a guide and the nature reserve fee are included. It suits first-timers who want someone with them in the water and a calm place to look at fish. The minimum age is 8, and anyone with heart problems or a serious medical condition is excluded. Bring ID, swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes.

A small bay near Alcúdia by boat

At €45, this small-group trip takes a boat to snorkel spots in the Bay of Pollença and around Cap de Formentor. Rental gear, a wetsuit and booties are included, with water and biscuits on the boat and a shower at the base. A certified dive guide is offered as an option, so choose the guided variant if you want company in the water.

Which Mallorca snorkeling trip fits you

Families with young children will find the Palma boat the simplest start, because the boat ride works for any age. Couples who want more than a swim stop can look at the sailing trip. Active travellers will like the kayak day, while first-timers who want to learn fit the reserve outing. Confident swimmers who want a quieter spot should pick the Pollença bay.

Seagrass meadows are protected under Spanish rules for boats, and anchors and chains must not damage them. For more ways to spend a day on the water, see our Mallorca boat trips, private boat tours and beaches.
